Garland Resident and Local Lawyer Announces Candidacy
for Justice of the Peace Precinct 2,  Place 2, in Dallas County

January 4, 2010--Garland resident and local lawyer,
Wesley Johnson (D), announces his candidacy for  
Justice of the Peace in Precinct 2, Place 2, in Dallas
County.

The seat, currently occupied by Ken Blackington (R) of
Mesquite, has gone unopposed since 2000.

“My varied practice has afforded me a comprehensive
understanding of the law, an understanding a modern
Justice of the Peace. must possess. I have the
knowledge, experience and commitment to serve as an
advocate for the People, in the People’s court.”

Mr. Johnson obtained his law degree from University of
Houston in 1983, and has been practicing law for the
past 26 years, 18 of which has been in his own practice.  
“Being self-employed, I have first hand knowledge of the struggles and concerns that come with
running a small business.  I have a strong work ethic, a work ethic I promise I will not lose when
entrusted with important public responsibilities. Dallas County taxpayers deserve a Justice of the
Peace that will work for them. ”

Although there will be a primary election on the Republican ticket. Johnson has no Democratic
opponent in the primary.

Precinct 2 includes Balch Springs, Mesquite, Garland, Sunnyvale, Rowlett, and Sachse.
